I have examined the possibilities for feminist, queer and non-white readings of the monstrous in horror films as well as the pleasures of resistive and alternative spectatorship the genre makes available to the viewer. In this latest project, the goal is to investigate the possible applications of this research in respect to video games with female lead characters (especially in the survival horror genre).
I have also commented on my personal involvement and the connection I have made to some of my current favorite characters. This last essay examines the power of the player-character connection and reveals how I got hooked to Tony Hawk Pro Skater.
